Not to be rude, but genuinely curious! How do you manage to cope with com/darpships without glorifying it? Is it like Lolita, where it’s viewed as horror instead of ‘love’?

i'm not quite sure what you mean my "glorifying"? darkshipping helps as a coping mechanism because i may have experienced some of those things irl.. (not exactly comfy talking about my trauma! frown ) and seeing my comfort chars in those situations gives me the "assurance" that im not alone.. if that makes sense? and i'm not that educated on lolita because gore makes me uncomfortable and i don't like looking into it so i can't compare it. and back to glorifying it.. im not supporting it irl, if thats what you mean. but if someone wants to enjoy dark media without using it cope, thats also totally fine.

i actually didn't ship ANYTHING except maybe jack x dave (dsaf) before i discovered proship/darkship culture. so most of my ships happen to be darkships or comships. i'm also in a fandom where pretty much all ships would be considered comships or problematic. my only "normal" ships are mrs x mr afton and jack x dave. (aka the only canon ships in fnaf and dsaf). i also ship problematic pairings to cope, along with enjoying them. hope this makes sense!
